Get to know Guerrero

Find your favorite destination and explore its charms

This Pueblo Mágico (Magical Town) is located on the Texas border with the United States. Only 40 minutes (49 km / 30 miles) from Piedras Negras, 3 hours from Monclova (245 km / 152 miles), and 2 hours 50 minutes (248 km / 154 miles) from Candela, another Pueblo Magico in the state of Coahuila. If you leave from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, a 4 hours 30 minutes (370 km / 230 miles) road by car is waiting for you.

The current population of Guerrero barely exceeds one thousand inhabitants, but it is perhaps this familiarity that gives it a sense of intimate coexistence that is hardly seen in other states. It is common for people to meet on its streets and recognize each other with a genuine affection of friendship, even if they don't know who you are, they will greet you as if you lived there.

Guerrero, Coahuila, is a destination that attracts lovers of adventure and history who come to the town in search of answers, such as why a border that originated at the end of the battle; of relics and treasures, such as those housed in La Parroquia de San Juan Bautista (The Parish Church of San Juan Bautista), with its baptismal font that has been there for three centuries; or the secrets contained in the Mission of San Bernardo, of which today only vestiges remain.

Through its streets, you perceive the smell of memories, but also that of the machaca and the roasted meat, of the ranchero beans and the cornbread, that with closed eyes lead you to the right place. There, where the smell rules and there is nothing left but to follow the heart because, with a happy stomach, life is a party.

Guerrero is a town where the temperature moves between the heat of the desert and the cool nights, where the force of the wind seems to dissipate the clouds to leave you a sky that completely undresses the sidereal space, where the constellations invite you to get lost for a while or the whole night if you want, finding their forms and witnessing the descent of shooting stars.

During your visit to the Historic Center of Guerrero, the Magical Town of Coahuila, don't forget to explore its Church of San Juan Bautista that houses paintings from the 18th century and a baptismal font of the same antiquity.

In case you are looking for a souvenir, mezquite crafts are one of its specialties, another option is to acquire a molcajete or a saddlery key ring that you will find practically all over the center.

In order to accommodate you, a lodging center is currently being built very close to the San Bernardo Mission that you will find under the name of “El Chalol”. It is made up of spacious cabins with large windows and everything you need to enjoy this magical town.
