When you are in the Historical Center of Taxco, you will have many options to visit, sightsee and learn. This town was declared a National Heritage Site for its historical monuments. Silverware is the queen of the place and it is possible to visit the workshops of the artisans and even make your own piece of personalized jewelry.
One of the most visited sites in Taxco is the Cathedral of Santa Prisca, a Baroque-style Catholic enclosure, built by the mining businessman José de la Borda more than 250 years ago and which serves as a point of reference for travelers and locals.
This parish was built with quarry and it has not suffered any modification: it remains intact. The iconic church is adorned with two beautiful towers decorated in the purest Baroque style, although some places are kept simple and austere.
The temple can be seen from any angle in Taxco, and its tiled dome matches the beautiful façade. Entering this site is fascinating. Admire its marvelous golden altarpieces, richly decorated. You will be amazed by the contrast between the pink quarry and the gold with which the interior is covered.
