Los Arcos (Querétaro's Aqueduct)

The aqueduct measures 1,280 meters long and features 74 original arches, with one added later by the engineer Salvador Álvarez. Its highest point measures 28 meters.

The Aqueduct was built at the request of the Capuchin nuns to the then Marquess of the Villa del Villar del Águila, Juan Antonio de Urrutia y Arana, who sought to bring clean water to the city. The first stone was laid in 1726, but it was not until 1738 that it was used to supply drinking water to the Virgen del Pilar, located in the Plazuela de la Cruz.
