Find your favorite destination and explore its charms
Archaeologists, both professional and amateurs, can not avoid feeling fascinated and bewitched when entering to these ancient caverns. Among other things you can find cave paintings that represent the daily life of the first inhabitants of this place. By this information, researches have learnt that 10 thousand years ago, its inhabitants used to be hunter-gatherers.
One of the most important discoveries in this regard is the Guilá Naquitz cavern. The excavations here ound evidence of the use of pumpkins, bean and corn seeds, probably the first domesticated plants in the American continent. This is also a sign that the inhabitants were starting to settle in one place, leaving behind its nomad life.
You can also visit the Blanca and Gheo Shih caves in which vestiges of prehispanic animals were discovered, along with hunter's tools.
