A trip to the archaeological site of Tamtoc is a must during your stay in Ciudad Valles. Explore the ancient pre-Hispanic constructions in this place also known as the "Place of the Water Clouds".
As you delve into this site, you will be transported back in time to discover over 70 perfectly preserved structures, some as tall as 36 meters. Tamtoc was considered the capital of the Huasteca Potosina during its peak between the years 600 and 1100 AD.
During springtime, rituals and dances are held to welcome the season. If you visit Tamtoc during this time, you'll find shamans performing cleansing rituals to rid the area of negative energies.
