The state of San Luis Potosí is a destination that offers unparalleled natural environments, it is rich in biodiversity and has ecological reserves that will take your breath away. It is located in the northern-central region of the country and borders Nuevo León and Tamaulipas to the north.

The historic downtown of its capital city houses important buildings of Baroque style, made of pink quarry stone. Stroll through its quiet streets and town squares, visit the Iglesia de la Virgen del Carmen and Plaza Fundadores (Fundadores Town Square).

Cerro del Fraile welcomes you to Matehuala, a beautiful little town that will catch your eye with its temples and provincial atmosphere. Prepare your palate to enjoy a dish of machaca (dried beef) and buy typical sweets such as “glorias” and cream custards. Another wonder of the state is Rioverde and its Laguna de la Media Luna (Half Moon Lagoon) where you can snorkel or ride a zip-line. In the Gruta de la Catedral (Grotto of the Cathedral) a thousand-year-old underground world awaits you.

A must see on your trip to San Luis Potosí is the Pueblo Mágico of Real de Catorce, its streets will take you back in time, when you observe its old Plaza de Toros you will understand the reason why it is called a ghost town.

The gastronomic delights of the state will also be the main protagonists of your trip. Do not forget to try the traditional Enchiladas Potosinas (corn masa and red chile stuffed with cheese, chili and onion), cabrito de Matehuala (goatling), the mezcal and the campechanas (traditional dessert) from Santa María del Río.
